Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Wednesday that Republican rival Sarah Palin is injecting fear and loathing into their campaign with her criticism that Barack Obama is friends with a terrorist. He called the effort "mildly dangerous."

Serouisly I think that totally uncalled for. To say a person is palling around with terrorist is the same as calling him a terrorist. And to have people in the crowd yell kill him. Not one time have they said the person is wrong for saying it. Are they holding a Presidential rally or a KKK rally?

I think the longer the voters spend in these side issues the better it is for McCain/Palin. As a Jamaican I think Americans are smarter than that and see a smoke screen for what it its. When your ideas and arguments are weak, you distract the audience.

I agree that Mccain and Palin have stepped over the line way too much from false ads to inciting a riot. They have no boundaries they will not cross and it shows desperation. I am afraid they will encourage someone to shoot at people and that is scary. The sooner they are mathematically out of the race the better.

What is astounding is the fact that a candidate touting membership of the Assemblies of God, covering of The Holy Spirit, anointed by her pastor spews statements known to be false and winks and blinks as she works for the accuser of the brethren.

PALIN NEWS!!!
PASS THIS ON TO EVERYBODY!!!
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/10/10/palin_chryson/index.html
So it is much better to make a porn movie out of a good mother and call that "fair". Democrats love that word when it gives them the advantage. How sad....really. We were scared to death of Mulims after 9/11 and now we do not even know the man who everything is so great. We will be sorry.
Incitement of hatred is nothing new to the Radical Right - and Failin' is just acting as bigoted religious nutcases always act: everything not us must be converted or destroyed.

You are a racist, xenophobic, boorish person. You are the reason i fight for Obama every day. Thank you for validating my choice for President.

Take a look at the violent left. If you are looking for examples read this discussion.
Extremism on either side of the fence is dangerous. NoBama, while you're pointing fingers have you heard of the Keating 5 or Troopergate?
Palin is not "mildly dangerous". She's frightening. She's toxic. She's a liar. She's mean. She's a right wing idealogue, a party hack, a religious fundamentalist. She's totally unqualified to be president. She's the worst idea John McCain ever had.
- 21 votes
I second that!
Palin operates at the lowest level the emotional level. She is not educated and uses her emotions and sexual appeal to enhance herself in society. She's Bitter, A dictator, A slanderer, A malicous and vindictive person that covers up her weakness of being EDUCATED.
She never knew who Obama or McCain were until a month ago. And she has the audacity to use language of such hate to paint a picture of someone she just met.
Dangerous comes into play regarding bringing her kids and 6 month old down syndrome baby to these rallies and thisi s what they are listening to. I wonder what happens to them when they do something wrong? This is what we are tecahing kids is ok.
What I do know is there will be things coming out about her and she will get all mad and defensive like she has never done anything wrong. Can you imagine such a perfect person. Usually the people that act perfect are the worst offenders!!!! They have masks on.
- 2 votes
NoObama, you seem to confuse radical conservativism with morals and values. Someone with morals and value does not slander, point fingers or judge. I'm afraid Palin is guilty of this and so much more. She is classic "do as I say, not as I do"
As a female Idependent voter I sat on the fence deciding between Obama and McCain. I honestly think both are fairly moderate and have the best intentions for our nation. What pushed me off of that fence? Palin. She's dangerous. It was an irresponsible decision on McCains part and has probably cost him the election.
Biden is a very good man, who has gone through an agonizing past week--the stress of the debate, followed by the deployment of his son to Iraq and then, the passing of his mother-in-law. I so admire the way he has managed to handle this very stressful time--as he always has done. My thoughts and prayers are, and have been, with him and his family.
However, his opposite running mate is a different issue:
There is a current perspective that Palin is working to incite violence against Obama by her attacks and words (witness members of the crowd shouting, "Terrorist," Kill him."
If any ordinary citizen were doing that--the secret service would be swift to move in and bring an end to it--possibly detain us, maybe even begin a long investigation into our lives. But we would surely--quickly--be silenced.
Why isn't Sarah Palin having to undergo the same consequences that we average people would undoubtedly suffer, were we to make suggestions about her, McCain, or anybody else--that hinted at our wish to see that person injured or, god forbid, even assassinated? Palin has gone over the edge of acceptable. Sadly, there is still a sector of America that does not want to see Obama become president because of his race. This is a serious thing that she is doing--why isn't somebody (like the Secret Service) holding her to account for her efforts?
- 16 votes
I fail to see where Palin is out of line by stating Obama has/had a relationship with Ayers. Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist who plotted against his own country. This is a character issue for Obama and thus should be discussed. If a person in the crowd shouts out something that is wrong, Palin is not culpable under the law. So why should the Secret Service hold her accountable? You are stating nothing more than a typical leftist attack. If someone says something you do not like, you accuse them of breaking the law. Even better, you have to through in the race card. Once again how typical of a liberal who can not see past the fact that someone may simply not like a candidate simply because they do not agree with them.
Why not try to avoid the race issue as it is not germaine to the article... or better yet, why not try and explain why it is alright for Obama to be associated with a person that set bombs in this country... I would love to hear that one.
- 1 vote
JEM,
Palin is not "stating that Obama had a relationship with Ayers"....she's accusing him of "palling around with a terrorist" "who wants to harm our country". It's Palin's character that needs to be looked questioned for stooping to such a low level as to lead her stupid followers to threaten a canditate for president.
It's the equiavalent of the claims that McCain's disclosing of flight patterns to the North Vietnamese lead directly to the shooting down of US planes. Calling McCain a traitor. I don't hear any of that kind of talk from Obama's campaign. Or what about McCain's well documented adultery while married to his first wife? Isn't that an issue that relates to how well McCain keeps promises??? Don't hear any of that from Obama's campaign either. Yet that idiot Palin uses the "terrorist" claim every time she speaks in public.
- 9 votes
Here is the problem. The issue may be political in balanced minds, but there are those who are emotionally imbalanced who would hear or read Palin's remarks and think it is a call to assassinate Obama. That is the danger. If you do not believe me, then go back into history and check out the Kennedy Assassinations and the antics of Richard Nixon.
Such remarks are very dangerous and hold no place in the politica debate.
Why do you think the Secret Service was called in earlier than ever with the Obama Campaign? It was right afte the Hilary comments raising the same issues. The same irresponsible behaviors. Shame on the Clinton Campaign and shame on the McCain campaign.
- 8 votes
JEM,
McCain/Palin have the right to bring up the Ayres issue. What I can not condone is that people who are running for the 2 most important positions in the United States do not have the class or common sense to tell these idots that are yelling Terrorist and Kill Him that they are out of line.
We have a saying " Silence is consent". The silence of McCain and Palin on hearing these rants must mean they condone the comments.
- 7 votes
Hey JEM. They should hold her accountable because she is intentionally misleading the morons that would attend her "speach". He was 8 when the Ayers was active. If you lived during those times and you were 16 or older most had similiar thoughts. Viet Nam was worng as is Iraq. The civil rights movement was overdue and there were many injustices during this time period. If I recall Ayers is no longer a "terriorist" and is not doing anything illegal? It's a cheap McCan't/Palin attempt to once again take the focus off the EMPTY Repug campaign and point fingers. Your repug is a danger to this country and should be removed. Also the dog with lip stick should focus on her problems in Alaska. Maybe she can take all of the distorted corrupt Joe six-pack repugs with her and you all can live happily ever after under her rule? (wink wink) Please get out of the way and let us regain this country and restore some respect in the world.
- 7 votes
I think Obama should sue her for slander! She is desperate and she knows exactly what she is doing. The only problem is it is backfiring and people (normal) are just disgusted with these repugs antics! She didn't squelch the "Kill him" just like her running mate didn't squelch the "Bi__h!" comment. They're two birds of a feather....DoDo Birds!
Sarah sleeps with her domestic terrorist! John is a philandering womanizer! He was in kahoots with the Keating 5 that lost billions of our money! What a pair!

Palin's tone has changed a bit over the last 24 hours, her use of words. Palin has once again disgraced herself, made other women like myself hugely annoyed that she is such a piece of work, and I cannot, just CANNOT for the life of me understand what little mental fantasyland Palin lives in that she would think she is of substance to be that close to the President's office... It just never ceases to amaze me and, frankly, confuses me how she thinks she's got anything to offer? the 10 point bump after the convention is now -12 in Pennsylvania... and McCain has blame, but its HER.... what is wrong with this women....

Jem,
Palin is Paling around with Bush/Cheney the most secretive terrorist along with their buddies the black water org. right now. Now 20 years ago TODAY. Who knows how long she has had a secret relationship with them but you want to talk about TERRORIST!!! They are in the process of being prosecuted!!!!
When you don't have a foundation or a solution to run on, you turned to smear and fear! Palin is playing to her conservative base and that base is proving to be very unbalanced. Palin can be trusted by McCain to do his dirty work but he didn't trust her enough to solicit her KEEN POLITICAL INSIGHT regarding pulling out of Michigan. They are a dysfunctional ticket at best!
And the Sherriff in uniform exciting the crowd is a disgrace to every law enforcement official that I have talked with since that airing.
- 12 votes
She'll find a reason to have that Sheriff fired next. and she is a disgrace as well. I never thought she would stoop that low.

Actually the government, FBI I think they said, is investigating this sheriff endorsing a candidate in uniform, which is illegal... He will most likely lose his job... sniff sniff...

On the View Cindy McCain said this would be a cean and honest campaign. Senator McCain has said the same on numerous occasions. So much for integrity. Between the smear campaign and the choice of Palin for VP there is no way I could vote for this guy.
- 9 votes
I may be off kilter, but since when was there ever a person in "uniform" allowed to assist with campaigning. I hope the media as well as the campaigns investigate this scenario. It was biased and showed cynicism.
- 6 votes
I think if Palin wants to talk about paling around she should look at her and her husbands relationship with the group that wants to pull Alaska away from the United States. Just how patriotic is that and she wants to be the vice president? maybe people should start looking into this matter more. I don't think she is for the United States at all. I think she is a liar!
- 9 votes
The "speak" of Where's Waldo Palin reminds me of the same language by the far right in the 60's. This hate "speak" created an atmosphere that lead to, I believe, the assinations of the Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King. Palin has turned the cloak back to the 60's. Sad!
- 6 votes
Cynicism....is that the politically correct word for "racism"? Because that's what Palin is injecting into this campaign directing her suggestives to the racist element in this society. The dangerous and moraless reality is; she is possibly sending what some unbalanced may perceive as a call for Obama's assasination. Palin is a moron and a disgrace. She does not speak for or represent any women or Republicans I know. The Republican associates I work with do not support McCain/Palin because of their brainless rhetoric and antics they are pulling at the cost of the election...and the country. They are a colossal waste of voter donation dollars. People need to stop contributing to a lost and illegal cause (as isn't McCain barred from raising private donations after acccepting public funds for his campaign?) and use that money toward their mortgages and restoring their diminished 401K's !

I fail to see why people don't see this for what it is - a mess. Personally I do not want to see a power shift in the land especially with some of the ideas that are being brought forth by the other party. Nothing is wrong with Palin - she is really the only one who can speak the truth without being held accountable and she should. We all should wake up to this.

she is really the only one who can speak the truth without being held accountable and she should.
Why do you feel Palin should not be held accountable for what she says? Who is to say whether or not she speaks the truth?
- 1 vote
This dog with lip stick doesn't know the truth ! She only knows what she is trained to say. I don't believe she has had an original thought since she was selected. I don't want to hear an original thought as I believe she thinks she is still in a "beauty" contest, you know nothing between the ears !! In addition I believe she borders on criminal behavior by dodging the law and certainly has an issue with abuse of power.
I almost wish Alaska would secede from the union, maybe then we would want to go to war with them for their oil ?
She is pure high school in an adult world and she ain't faring too well at the prom. Please get out of Obama's way !!!! O8/12

Not because the McCain/Pallin camp has been disrespectful means that persons supporting Obama/Biden should be as well. I would prefer sight been shone in their words and actions but I really don't like the name calling. I find it childish and immature.
By the way I am not American and do not live in America but I find your politics interesting. I just don't like the references that have nothing to do with their political ideology. "dog with lipstick" was just low.
Yes McCain/Palin might have started it but true Obama supporters don't have to go there. That's gutter politics.
The only response to the hate talk and racial insinuations is a direct call to the American people to see it for what it is. I think Obama and Biden are doing a great job of this. But the nasty talk and smears should be left to the GOP while we calmly explain the untruths and lies.So far it seems to be working...but we can't stoop to their level and rise above it at the same time. Obama\Biden 08

She doesn't speak the truth. Go to factcheck.org. Every negative ad has been proven false, misleading or anexagerated true. Which boils down to deception and lies.

As long as Palin keeps making incendiary remarks, is virtually inaccessible to the press and when, at least in Florida, the media is cordoned off from interviewing her supporters, then I think the media should refuse to cover her events. She is despicable and receiving way too much airtime!
- 5 votes
Where's Waldo Palin has absolutely no substance behind her messages. Couric's interview, with follow up questions on a particular matter showed complete lack of knowledge.Take for eample her response to Supreme Court rulings. She couldn't even remember the court's ruling regarding the Valdez oil spill case and she lives in Alaska.Go figure!

Welcome back Joe, you were missed.
Why doe Palin attend the Alaska Independence Party Convention and even worse addressing it this year.
Who is the terrorist? Ayers was never convicted of anything. I know that is reaching, I remember the bombings. I remember Kent State there was a lot happening. But doesn't Palin condone terrorism; here is some of what the founder of AIP had to say:
The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions.
Joe, kick her @^%.

This kind of campaigning is more than "mildly dangerous." It's really scary. There are a considerable number of crazies out there who don't need much of a nudge to go over the edge. God forbid that happens. But if it does, McCain and Palin will pay a very high price for helping create such a hate-filled, scary, dangerous climate. They will bear no small responsibility for it. Words matter. I hope they will choose them much more carefully in the days and weeks ahead, focusing instead on the issues that really matter. But I am not optimistic.
I am optimistic that the American people can see this for what it is and revolt against it, and demand better. I, for one, will simpy refuse from now on to even read or watch anything about Palin until she can come out of hiding and "face the nation" (the Press) like every other candidate. And for the Press to continue to even cover her when she won't even talk to the members of the press flying with her, is a great disservice to our country. Let her go to her rallies and read the speeches someone else wrote. No one says the Press or the public has to be there or pay attention. Like we saw on the SNL episode, the Press needs to grow a pair!

I think too the FBI/Secret Service are doing some sort of "intervention" with this rhetoric Palin spouts over and over about terrorists that is inciting real dangerous crowd behavior... Sadly, tho she may tone it down, the damage is done and I truly dont think she would listen to one single thing the FBI/Secret Service said; she is on a mission from God to be VP and in her fantasyland she is qualified. As a woman, she is offensive on so many levels...
I sincerely hope when the elections are over, she will go back to AK, see just how her "hockey moms" like her now that she has proven she has nothing of substance to say, is a disgrace to them, and has some pretty questionable ethics herself... Yeah, she got on SNL, but Tina Fey is FAR more likeable than this bonehead...
Give ma a break!!!!!!!!!!!!
OBAMA keep saying this over and over, I was raised by a single mother who died of ovarian cancer and turn around and said the American people keep hearing the same thing over and over from John McCain.
lET ME ASK THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ONE QUESTION? Is Obama the only child raised by a single mother, is Obama mother the only one fighting about healthcare on her death bed.
It's about time Obama stop crying wolf and take care of his grandmother who got him to where he is, instead of living by herself in Hawaii. Shame on you Barrack.
Second, while McCain was a POW for 5 years, who was taking care of his children. I don't see any of McCain children crying wolf about when their father was POW for five years, they were taking care of by a single mother.
Obama I am tired of hearing the same old thing over and over. McCain keep going negative and you will never get a front row seat to the Oval office.
BY THE WAY, I DON'T VOTE BECAUSE NO MATTER WHO BECAME PRESIDENT I NEVER BENEFIT FROM THEM ANYWAY.
Hey Shanti. To answer your question no he isn't the only child raised by a single mother. He is the only child raised by a single mother RUNNING FOR AND MOST LIKELY TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. He has come great distances without the silver/gold spoon. It's way over due that we have a man or a woman in the WH that has had some REAL life experiences. Please stretch your limited ability and imagine what it was like to grow up half black/half white in Kansas?? Oh I 'm certain he had to overcome some real obsticles that you couldn't possibly relate to. This man deserves more credit for that alone. I feel he relates more to real people than McShame or his pit bull follower ever could. Please move out of our way and allow us to recapture this country and be great once again. O8/12

I have been watching everything I can concerning this election and this is the first time that I have heard Obama comment on his mother. I have read about it in biographies but I have never heard him say it. It was not whining, he was stating that because of this experience he has an understanding of what a family goes through when this type of crisis arises.
As for Palin. She is a "stuck-up cheerleader" who never grew up. The reason she thinks she can get away with doing the things she has done (as an adult) is because there are no investigative reporters way up in Alaska. Well, now she is down in the mainland and she is fair game for the media if they can get to her.
Palin also likes to state that Obama has used poor judgement. McCain has been accused of poor judgement on those planes that went down (remember he is not that smart based on this class ranking) and in the Keating 5. His choice for VP and some of his remarks during this campaign have really demonstrated poor judgment. I am actually surprised that the Obama campaign has not picked up on this pattern and capitalized on it.
Finally, I have always believed that if you don't vote you have forgone your right to complain about politics.

TY Puma... and the others above... I think Sen. Obama didn't want to drag his mom into the fray, but is making a good point. I think McPalin would drag out anything and anyone without shame, including Cindy McCain, another parrot who paraphrases quotes and seems to forget her own husband's voting record on military issues. Seems the Iran/Iraq veterans website, I cannot recall the name, has given Obama a B on his record, and McCain a D... telling, isnt it?
No one gave Obama admittance to Harvard, he earned that right. No one gave him editor of Law Review, he earned that right. No one is GIVING him this election, he is earning it every single day he speaks from experience, with some dignity and honor no matter what the opposition does.... I would love to see Obama's camp question the judgment of McCain on his VP pick, but that won't happen; they have entirely too much class for that.

If you don't vote then you are sorry example of a citizen. As far as Palin is concerned, this dimwit has the freedom of speech to protect her but she does not need to stand smiling at the podium while listening to cries of "Kill Him " and saying nothing . A true leader would say " Now wait just a minute , that is NOT acceptable in the USA " . Her silence shows that this is exactly the response that she is encouraging. As for Ayers. He has gone on and lead a productive life from all that I have read. Are people not allowed to "change " . Well, when your name is McCain , I guess change is not something something that is possible.
- 6 votes
Well said RJ. Her silence implies complicity. Sounds rather like Pontius Pilate washing his hand of the whole affair, but at least he said that he did not believe Jesus had done wrong. Here is an excerpt from a letter by a lady in PA which speaks volumes:
I can hardly begin to express the depth of my anger at hearing Ms. Palin denigrate the many community organizers I worked with and proudly call my friends. Community Organizers make the world a better place, doing God's work day in and day out, night after night. To hear that convention audience laugh in response to her snide remarks really pissed me off. I didn't realize just how steamed I was until a dear friend (another longtime community activist) sent me an e-mail with this message: Jesus was a Community Organizer. Pontius Pilate was a Governor.

I agree, RJ... If there is anyone over the age of 50 who doesn't just roll their eyes and say to him/herself "what the hell was I thinking" when looking back on their younger years, they're either a) in denial, b) never left the house. None of us can look back and not regret things. What makes it so impossible for Ayers to feel this way? The 1960s/70s were a volatile time in our country, as MCcain should know, and people were frustrated with the government (see a pattern?).
I do think that Palin really killed her chances in the future, we voters have LONG memories, when she did not immediately address the horrible outbursts by crowd members calling for "kill him" or "terrorist" etc... That will come back to haunt her forever and ever. And you are also right that up in AK the national media isnt all that interested in daily goings-on. They sure are down in the big city, and this big mouth, talk first, think later is unacceptable as an adult, much less a VP candidate...
We all need to be watchful Palin doesnt turn up in 2012 or any other year on a national level. Let AK have her back...
I really don't think we need to worry about McCain/Palin. Barack has made an intelligent case for change and has detailed plans to back it up. He can even explain his plans in a way that all people can understand. Palin was a HUGE mistake for McCain and I would bet that he already regrets it. I can't even stand to listen to her talk. Her delivery makes me feel like she is talking down to the American public. I know a lot of "hockey moms" and "Joe six-packs" that can communicate in the English language much more effectively. Personally, I think she sounds and behaves like a wannabe, nothing more.

Palin is the worst thing to happen to McCain. She sparked initial interest but it was more of a publicity stunt than someone who could bring in votes. Once she opened her mouth, it ended there. I am sure McCain regrets it but there is little he can do about it now. If he chose someone more moderate and more intelligent he probably would have gotten more of the moderates and independents. Resorting to personal attacks at this late stage in the election is insane. Have they nothing else to offer? All they are doing is handing Obama the win.
- 4 votes
McCain is the worst thing that happened to McCain. Palin is nothing but his parrot. She is saying what she is told to say, and is relishing it. She is nothing but a mean, hateful, vindictive waste of oxygen, just like McCain. They both are despicable. We won't have to stomach them much longer.

Don't you love how the networks have Joe Biden on for his comments about last night's debate? Oh where, oh where is Sarah........do you hear crickets? Yep, she has been sequestered with her crib notes to study and memorize for her next speech where she'll spread her lies.

I found it interesting today that in an interview, can't recall the show, Palin had to have McCain sitting with here.. they interviewed both... Now, c'mon, I dont see Obama holding Biden's hand, or vice versa.
For a woman like Palin, who was the key speak at the Alaska Independent Party's convention THIS YEAR, an organization with a radical who makes William Ayers look as dangerous as Kermit the Frog, she has no place, NONE to open her mouth about issues that happened 30 years ago with someone Obama knows. How about this year, Sarah... How about the radical Vogler, who you are very familiar with.... do you consider yourself a good American for being so tied to a group that wants to succeed from the US.... hmmmm... doesnt sound like YOU love America very much.....
Biden is so rite, it's wrong on so many levels. Sara was wrong she is a grown women not some mad teenager at a football game mad because her team is not winning. She is supose to be a christian lady she has children of her own watching her every move the way she talks the things she's saying. Is this the way she want's her children to act to talk to insight potencal violents in some who would do so.

Biden was too much of a gentleman regarding 6-Pack Sarah's behavior -- I want to see her arrested for terrorism -- if inciting a crowd to kill a US Senator and a Presidential candidate is not terrorism what is?
BTW is membership in the Alaskan Liberation Army (AIP) terrorism? Let's see..successionist group...leader voger quoted saying "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred of America..i'm an Alaskan not an American" sounds like high school graduate Todd Palin pals around with terrorists!
and yet I do not hear democrats shouting KILL HIM
why iare the media and Chaos McCain Train ignoring hate-filled Palin's incendiary and highly dangerous behavior and t. Palin's affiliations?
